Evangelos Zoumbaneas was born in Athens in 1968. He graduated in 1993 from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, at the Technological Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece

In 2006 he received his diploma as a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity from the National Canter for Eating Disorders (NCFED) in Great Britain.

In December 2010, he became the General Director of the Center of Education & Treatment of Eating Disorders (KEADD, www.keadd.gr), in Athens. The Center of Education & Treatment of Eating Disorders is affiliated with the NCFED, of Great Britain.

During his Military service, 1994-1995, he served as a supervisor at the Department of Nutrition, at the 414 Military Psychiatric Hospital.

During the period 2006-2007, he worked as supervisor at the Department of Nutrition of Adolescent Health Unit of the children’s hospital “Aglaia Kyriakou” in Athens. He has been an associate for this unit ever since.

Mr Zoumbaneas is a member of the Greek Research Institute for the Scientific Diet for Athletes and the Greek Institute for Obesity. He is the Vice-president of the Scientific Center for Melissotherapeia – Apitherapy, as well as the European Association of Dietetics.

He has appeared in numerous TV shows, in both public and private TV stations. Up until October 2002, he was the chairman of the Pan-Hellenic Association of Dieticians - Nutritionists. Beyond his academic achievements in the science of Nutrition, he has also pursued studies in Operational Management, Public relations, Advertisment and Psychology.

Evangelos Zoumbaneas has presented in various Nutritional Conferences, both Greek and internation. He has published numerous articles in the magazines “Diet and Health”, “Vita”, “Diet and Food”, and “Harmony”, as well as in other magazines and newspapers with national circulation.

In 1997, he cofounded with his colleague, Manolis Manolarakis, the scientific team “DIATROFI www.diatrofi.gr - Applied Programs of Nutritional Education and Support, which counts 70 collaborators in all of Greece via franchise.

Since October 1999, he has been the chief editor of the scientific magazine Diatrofi “health & wellness” (www.diatrofimagazine.gr), and starting in December 2010, he has been the editor of the electronic magazine “e-food for thought” (http://www.diatrofi.gr/index.php?position=center&module=static_pages&CategoryId=166)

Together with his colleague, Manolis Manolarakis, they published a guide for everyday eating, titled “What’s cooking today, mom? ” (Ellinika Grammata Publications), a best seller in its category with 10 re-prints in four years of circulation.

In March 2009, he published the book “Nutritional Intelligence: The answer to bulimia, bingeing, and obesity” (Ellinika Grammata Publications), a best seller in its category with 3 re-prints in one year of circulation.

In March 2010, he published his book, titled “Chef in 5 Minutes” with tips and directions for quick and healthy meals (Ellinika Grammata Publications), a best seller in its category with 2 re-prints in the first six months of circulation).

Ever since 1995, he has been working as a Nutritionist in his private office in Nea Ionia, Athens, Greece.

Evangelos is a romantic soul, out of which may spring sometimes a good word or a beautiful song and other times a warm look or a well-written book! He works all day long and does so in his own unique way and for his own unique reasons! He dreams of changing the world, and, believe me, he has taken this role quite seriously and has already found the recipe: Art, love, and good health! And as far as the latter goes, he has concluded that what is important is the golden two-fold of life-long exercise and balanced diet which nurtures body, mind, and soul. One element that makes mr Evangelos Zoumbaneas' books, as well as himself, as a scientist, to stand out is, beyond his education, his unique understanding of the nuances of the human psyche that somehow play an intriguing role in eating behavior.
