Evangelos is a romantic soul, out of which may spring sometimes a good word or a beautiful song and other times a warm look or a well-written book! He works all day long and does so in his own unique way and for his own unique reasons! He dreams of changing the world, and, believe me, he has taken this role quite seriously and has already found the recipe: Art, love, and good health! And as far as the latter goes, he has concluded that what is important is the golden two-fold of life-long exercise and balanced diet which nurtures body, mind, and soul. It is believed that to know well a theorem means you can actually explain it to just about anyone... After so many years in the field of nutrition, Evangelos could truly declare extremely proud of his achievements (although such a stance would be quite out of character for him): he has actually managed to present the fundamental notions of his field in such a way that anyone can comprehend and become a little wiser as to how to organize his or her daily nutrition. That is what the writer had in mind everyday as he would put words, expressions, and feelings together, in order for "Thin... positive" to be born!

One element that makes mr Evangelos Zoumbaneas' books, as well as himself, as a scientist, to stand out is, beyond his education, his unique understanding of the nuances of the human psyche that somehow play an intriguing role in eating behavior. Sometimes he is aware of this knowledge, and sometimes this knowledge seems to simply spring out of him. Nutritional and emotional imbalances associated with the decrease or increase of body weight still stand today as a taboo in many cultures. There are many health professionals with lack of deep knowledge in the sensitive issues of human eating behavior. The books of such professionals do not offer help to those who seek, well beyond the mere weight loss, a deeper understanding of the relationship between emotions and eating that affects nutritional choices. Mr Zoumbaneas is a nutritionist who has both the education and the understanding of what needs to be presented in a book so that many people can benefit from nutritional guidance that goes beyond decreasing body weight. His books can be used as self-improvement tools for a higher quality life, and this is what makes them stand out.

I feel grateful for having had Evangelos Zoumbaneas as my seminar trainer for the Master's in Eating Disorders and Obesity at the KEADD (Center for Education and Treatment of Eating Disorders), which functions under the auspices of the National Center of Eating Disorders in the UK. His way of teaching, whether in person or through his books, makes you feel like he is right at your side presenting everything in a very simple and understandable manner that assures comprehension. At the same time, you feel like you can identify with all he presents, as if he knows your story, your efforts... He comes up to help you out of your ineffectual struggles and into a new way of dealing with food and eating, convincing you that solutions lie elsewhere... And they truly do!

I have been a follower of Mr Zoumbaneas ever since his first book. His writing is clear, comprehensible, and leaves no room to misunderstandings. Simple steps that comprise a guide to a better life. His last work is also the most complete. In simple words, he manages to make the complex biochemical paths of the human organism comprehensible to all, and to show us that when we carefully listen to our bodies, it all becomes simple. I thank him from the bottom of my heart, not only because he opened new nutritional roads for me, but also because he upgraded my life emotionally and intellectually. It is unbelievable... but our food is truly our medicine or our poison... It is up to us to make the choice...
