The treatment of Eating Disorders requires the collaboration of a cross-scientific team of specialised Health Professionals.
The collaborative work of a Nutritionist and Therapist is the certain and confirmed solution for a patient’s fastest and safest healing and recovery.
Additionally, the contribution of an experienced physical education teacher or personal trainer with deep knowledge on managing Eating Disorders can help even further towards the patient’s physical strengthening. It is often the case that the wrong kind of exercise can worsen the problem.
Before a program starts, the patients are required to undergo specific blood and bio-chemical tests. A full-scale study of the individual’s metabolic profile is of vital importance for proper treatment.
Each individual will be informed regarding the most suitable treatment plan that matches their individual case, the treatment cost, as well as the suggested treatment time during the initial - evaluation session by a member of our team of specialists.

The Nutritional Intelligence program refers to groups of Emotional Eating and Binge Eating Management.
You will be informed regarding the schedule of the sessions by the program’s coordinators following your application during the initial evaluation session.
Please take some time to review the terms of participation in the group, as well as the session schedule. This group will help you understand the psychological background of food consumption and make permanent changes to your eating habits.
The “Emotional and Binge Eating Management” groups are not seminars, but treatment processes; as such, they require your active participation for optimal results, and the detailed session schedule as well as the terms of use must be followed .
The dynamics and interactions that develop among group members provide the proper framework in which over-consumption of food can be safely analysed. If a group decides to continue, a new 12-session cycle is created, delving into other matters regarding binge eating.
Group Sessions for Parents
A group specifically aimed at parents and guardians of children who have difficulties with food management - in other words who are likely facing eating disorders. Such difficulties may negatively affect the lives of both the child and their parents.
The group concerns parents who have come to understand that their child is facing some kind of difficulty with food consumption, does not have a good relationship with their nutrition, may be eating in secret, having more or less than the normal quantity of food, or is constantly talking about calories or how to get rid of them, and are in need of advice or support on how to manage each occasion.
Additionally, it concerns parents who have noticed that their child often and systematically skip meals and reduce the variety of food kinds they consume, or is constantly trying to “burn” the calories after each meal through exercising or other methods.
The group is run by Nutritionist Vicky Skarvatsopoulou, and Clinical Psychologist Zoe Laskari, specialised in eating disorders.
The group consists of 7 to 12 participants and sessions last 90 minutes.
It is vital for participants to commit to attending all sessions.
The cycle of weekly sessions includes:
- Information regarding the nature of eating disorders
- Training on how parents can guide their child towards a healthy way of life
- Information regarding exercising by Physical Education Professor Mr. Theodoros Simadis
- Support for the parents who endure the struggles that come with managing an eating disorder.
- Training for parents on how to psychologically manage their child’s eating disorder, relapse and resistance to treatment.
- Help for parents to understand their child’s needs
- Training on ways and techniques on how to manage every negative emotion and reaction their child may experience during treatment, such as anger, depression, anxiety and resistance to treatment.
The “closed therapy group”
Binge eating episodes lead to emotional food consumption and occasional loss of control during eating. It is the main cause for difficulties in following a steady nutrition schedule. Overconsumption of food can be a misguided attempt to manage negative emotions. We can help you break this vicious cycle.
The group consists of 7 to 12 participants and sessions last 90 minutes.
It is vital for participants to commit to attending all sessions.

How group therapy works and how it helps the patients
The common goal of a therapy group fighting Binge Eating lies in managing binge eating episodes and a relative outline is developed during sessions.
A specific structure is followed during the sessions, at the end of each which, some form of assignment or self-observation task is given. In contrast to other support groups, the therapist coordinates the discussion subjects and equally distributes time to each participant so that everyone may achieve optimal results through the therapeutic process.
Each participant decides what they wish to reveal and to what extent. However, the more active a group member is, the more they will benefit.
